Essential Functions
Job Summary
To plan and coordinate support operations for the Student Union Events Service division. Responsible for scheduling and supervision of events and coordinating technical, physical and other required support.
Core Responsibilities
- Initiates, plans, schedules, and manages university events for internal and external clients, to include coordination of location, facilities, audio visual, technical services, supplies, and personnel.
- Markets Student Union space for external events, including weddings, proms, quinceneras, etc.
- Coordinates financial transactions, including invoicing, billing, and building use agreements. Monitors accounts for events.
- Acts as a liaison with internal and external customers to coordinate and facilitate events.
- Communicates information regarding facility use, program operations, and campus policies, regulations and procedures to customers and the University community.
- Prepares reports and statistical information.
- Coordinates and/or participates in special meetings.
- Member of the Expressive Activity Representative team and observes campus internal and external free speech activities
- Periodically supervises and trains Event Services student staff.
- Acts as manager on duty for Event Services on a weekly basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- One (1) year of experience in events management, event planning, hospitality, or related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- General knowledge of sound and lighting systems and other applicable equipment.
- Computers, events management software and standard office equipment.

Working Conditions
- Office environment.
- Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.
- After hours and weekend work is required on an occasional basis.
- Occasional after hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
Physical Demands:
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasional.
