Job Summary
Represents the University of Texas at San Antonio to the public community in San Antonio, throughout Texas, across the nation and the world. Develops and implements strategies and projects to facilitate recruitment and enrollment in all the programs offered.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepares recruitment schedule, and plans recruiting and yield events.
- Organize and manage in-person and virtual international recruitment initiatives, such as information sessions, fairs and webinars.
- Recommends updates for program webpage and printed publications.
- Recruits and promotes University opportunities to prospective students by developing and delivering presentations to international high schools, universities, businesses, organizations and UTSA alumni.
- Maintains key relationships with high schools and universities abroad, as well as with sponsoring agencies.
- Plans, organizes and supervises implementation of recruitment projects and events.
- Monitors target markets and university enrollment and produces reports to assist with recruitment efforts.
- Assists with the development of a training plan for faculty and staff to support with recruitment efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of direct professional experience developing and managing international higher education recruitment networks, working with sponsoring agencies and country-specific recruitment funnels. Requires a thorough understanding of international recruitment.
- Valid driver's license and Passport.
- Prior work experience in seeking, attracting, and successfully recruiting prospective international students (domestically and/or internationally), with the goal of significantly increasing international student enrollment at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
- Ability to organize and manage in-person and virtual international admission recruitment initiatives, such as information sessions, fairs and webinars.
- Knowledge of the target audience (international undergraduate students) to help with strategy, decision making and outreach efforts.
- Experience in providing excellent and timely customer service to prospective international students and other stakeholders.
- Ability to execute responsibilities related to the review and processing of international student admission applications.
- Ability to travel abroad for periods of time.
- Provide positive and proactive customer service to families and international students at all stages in the application process.
- Proficiency in language(s) other than English (Spanish highly preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience living/studying in other countries and cultures and working with non-native English speakers.
- Familiarity with technologies banner, and Salesforce.
- Proficiency in managing various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube etc. to connect and actively engage with prospective international undergraduate students.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
- Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
