Salary Range: Up to $4,000 per course.

Hours: up to 10 hours per week, non exempt.

Essential Functions

The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is considering applications for part-time adjunct lecturers to teach in its Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (BA) degree program for Fall 2025 and Spring 2025. Adjuncts are paid per course taught. Undergraduate courses are mostly taught during the day.

Successful candidates must have either a terminal degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice (or related field) or extensive, applied experience in these topics.

Required Qualifications
  • The qualifications to be considered as an adjunct lecturer in the BA program are a master's degree in criminology or criminal justice, or closely related field of study, or relevant work experience in the field.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience relevant to the course's specific subject matter is desirable.

Working Conditions

This position will be primarily located on the UTSA downtown campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
