JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Coordinator – Research will serve as coordinator for the Behavioral Education for Health and Proactive Parenting with Youth (BE-HAPPY), a clinical research project funded under the New and Emerging Children’s Mental Health Research Initiative under the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium. This research is a new program that will target partnering with pediatric primary care and family medicine clinics within East Texas to provide parent management training education and services in rural care deserts. The Program Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day activities which include study program development, IRB coordination, outreach and engagement, screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants/partner clinics. The coordinator will ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and organization.
This position is time-limited and will only be funded through August 2026
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
- Coordinates the development of data management and study processes.
- Coordinates outreach and engagement to expand number of collaborating organizations.
- Track organization agreements and commitment letters.
- Maintain recruitment database.
- Screens and recruit participants through in person and virtual visits.
- Maintains participant file records and data captured during assessments into a data management system managed by the research team.
- Prepare reports for PI and external consortium reporting.
- Disburse participant compensation per research protocol and internal processes.
- Document and monitor participant compensation disbursements and submit reports as required.
- Identify, track, and report protocol deviations to PI.
- Conduct outreach to participants and documentation of withdrawal.
- Work with online data collection system (e.g., Qualtrics).
- Coordinate updates on progress, opportunities, challenges, and successes, and any issues being encountered to the PI.
- Order supplies and equipment as needed and track inventory.
- Serve as coordinator for practicum students serving as research assistants.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Responsible for the execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls with provide reasonable assurance of the efficacy and efficiency of department operations, safeguarding of department assets, and adherence to applicable policies, regulations and accreditation of the department.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
- Three (3) years’ research experience in a related field is preferred.
- Two (2) years’ relevant experience required.
- May accept a combination of education and experience.
