Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Uses a combination of cardiopulmonary diagnostic equipment, quantitative and qualitative criteria and communication skills to perform clinical cardiopulmonary testing.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
- Recognition of technical problems from Q.C. results, qualitative displays of measured parameters and unusual PFT patterns.
- Plan and organize patient testing sessions in such a manner that patient flow through the diagnostic lab is optimized without compromising test quality.
- Performs the following tests in accordance with ATS guidelines: Spirometry, Flow Volume Loops, Static Lung Volumes by Whole Body Plethysmography, Airway Resistance Lung Diffusion, Maximal Inspiratory and Expiratory Pressures, Pulmonary Gas Exchange Stress Testing.
- Provide support and backup assistance as needed for the following procedures: Arterial Blood Gas procurement and analysis, Cardiac Stress Lab, ZIO monitor setup and EKG’s.
Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary program
- CPR Certified Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in diagnostic setting
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Certification Credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care
