Minimum Qualifications :
Associate's degree or equivalent in related field and two years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with various small-sized to medium-sized area networks (i.e., LAN's, WAN's).
Job Summary :
To provide hardware / software support and the technical skills required to administer, design, modify and maintain a network configuration at the department / school level.
Job Duties :
- Analyzes, designs, and administers or assists in the performance of network connections / configurations at the school / department level.
- Manages the performance of four to five software packages from fairly simple to complex levels of sophistication.
- Provides training and support of these packages to staff, faculty and management.
- Provides programming skills of basic to moderate complexity, utilizing established languages.
- Consults with vendors, faculty, staff, and management concerning projected enhancements to hardware / software and networking capabilities.
- Oversees or assists in the physical set-up of communication connections.
- Performs basic to moderately complex problem determination of reports and resolution, identifying problems at the school / department level.
- Assists management / supervisor with the development of reports and procedures to optimize the benefits of network capabilities.
- Provides staff, faculty and management with training and assistance in the utilization of various software products (i.e., spreadsheets, data bases, word processing, and statistical packages.)
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Programming of Cisco network equipment.
Salary Range :
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule :
On-site, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and as needed on occasion.
