Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Multispecialty clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and treatment under the supervision of a physician.
Job Description:
This position requires a Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing or a recognized field of science for Physician Assistants. The ideal candidate will have current licensure as a Registered Nurse with approval to practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or a current PA licensure with Certification from NCCPA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works under moderate supervision of a physician to provide advanced practice nursing care and treatment within primary care and/or board-recognized specialization
- Assesses patient database and identifies biopsychosocial needs and makes appropriate referrals
- Prescribes medications and other treatments within the APRN scope of practice
