JOB SUMMARY
Works under supervision of Pharmacy Technician Coordinator, Pharmacy Technician Supervisor or Pharmacy Manager. Provide sterile compounding operations for Aston Infusion Pharmacy in addition to adhering to all USP 797 / 800 and Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent or
4 years of experience as a pharmacy technician and
2 years in area of advanced pharmacy technician concentration.
TSBP) REG PHARMACY TECNICIAN Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Registered Technician Upon Hire or
PHARM INT) PHARMACY INTERN Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Pharmacist intern Upon Hire and
STERILE COMPOUNDING (IV) CERT Sterile compounding (IV) certification accredited by ACPE required in Sterile & Hazardous Compounding and Investigational Drug Services only. Upon Hire and
BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required. Upon Hire and

JOB DUTIES
Performs job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, performance improvement objectives and environmental / infection control standards.
Assists with ordering, managing and monitoring drug inventory in a fiscally responsible manner and is cognizant of appropriate PAR levels in all medication storage areas.
Accurately prepares all sterile admixtures for adults, pediatrics and neonates using proper aseptic technique. Safely handles all hazardous medications, including chemotherapy. Delivers medications in a timely and efficient manner.
Proper management and handling of medications, including investigational and controlled substances (e.g., record maintenance, use of inventory management software, inventory and quality control, proper documentation and discrepancy resolution).
