The UT System Administration is primarily based in Austin, Texas. It supports the missions of the System's fourteen institutions by providing financial, legal, planning, purchasing, government relations, communications, development, and other central services. Performs complex (journey-level) accounting work. Provides accounting and financial support to ensure adequate internal controls and efficiency with procedures by utilizing the applications of accounting.
- Applies knowledge of the accounts payable function to prioritize actions and consistently applies policies and practices
- Manages varying sources of information and situations to accurately provide solutions
- Monitors and controls the flow of work through accounting systems
- Identifies and resolves problems that arise
- Develops and delivers effective communication that conveys clear understanding of the unique needs of different customers
- Practices high standards and gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, confidentiality, and integrity
- Assists with annual fiscal year end requirements

- Bachelor's degree and three years of increasingly responsible accounting experience is required
- Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised
- May be required to possess certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. Participation in TRS is mandatory.
