The University of the Cumberlands has an opening at the on-campus Post Office. This position is for a part-time Post Office Clerk that will assist the Post Office Coordinator in daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages efficiently to faculty, staff, and students.
- Assist customers with mailing needs, including selling postage and processing outgoing shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail.
- Ensure the mailroom remains organized and secure.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving mail-related issues.
- Follow university policies and federal postal regulations regarding mail handling.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Previous experience in mail services, retail, or customer service is a plus.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in email and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry mail packages (up to 50 lbs).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time position, 20 hours per week
- Monday – Thursday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Hours will vary. The position may require additional hours at peak times at the University (generally the start of each semester).
