The Transfer Student Enrollment Counselor at University of the Cumberlands will perform a range of duties to meet the undergraduate main campus program needs. This position’s primary responsibility will be to assist transfer students in the admissions process, conduct campus recruitment events, build relationships with local community colleges and communicate effectively with students.
In addition to interpersonal communication skills and proficiency in public speaking, this position also requires flexibility and critical thinking skills. The Transfer Student Enrollment Counselor will be expected to manage their own recruitment assignment and will serve as a liaison between the student’s previous institution and University of the Cumberlands.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must possess good people skills and the ability to communicate in all mediums including phone calls, presentations, email, text, social media, written correspondence, and face to face communication
- Proficient in computer literacy and knowledgeable of Microsoft Office
- Must show initiative, adaptability, resourcefulness and dependability
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, as office hours and work times are often based on student needs.
- Will require some weekend work, as well as daytime and overnight travel
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages admission process including inquiries, applications, correspondence, collection of documents and discussing transcript evaluations.
- Responsible for the management of the transfer student population including the planning of travel logistics, making reservations for accommodations, scheduling one-on-one meetings, college fairs or other recruitment events, and submitting detailed expense reports
- Communicate effectively with applicants in a timely manner
- Provide thorough knowledge of the University, academic departments, programs, curricula, methods of program delivery, and expectations
- Provide prompt and efficient customer service
- Learn and execute new information and data processes that are required to meet needs of the department
- Discuss financial aid with prospective students
- Use of Slate CRM and other software that will aid in recruitment and communication to students
- Assist with Summer Orientation events and other events on campus
- Performs other duties as assigned
