Brief Description of Duties
The Graduation Clearance Specialist will assist the Office of the Registrar in handling day-to-day administrative responsibilities. The Graduation Clearance Specialist will perform assigned duties with a high degree of independence, professionalism, initiative, and efficiency, exercising judgment and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the current graduation clearance process, refines procedures or recommends the development of new ones, when appropriate.
- Assist with processing of graduation applications.
- Review and corrects (as necessary) applications for graduation prior to publishing a list of degree candidates.
- Review students’ academic transcripts to ensure that the student has fulfilled the University’s general education degree requirements.
- Inform applicants of their eligibility or ineligibility.
- Distribute diplomas to the academic deans for distribution to the graduates.
- Process requests for embassy letters.
- Assist with all other assigned duties pertaining to the Office of the Registrar duties.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Associate degree in a related field and at least one year of specialized experience.
- In lieu of a Associate degree, the candidate may have an High School Diploma and a minimum of one year of related specialized experience in a registrar’s office.

Condition of Employment: This is a sponsored program appointment. The duration of this appointment is subject to grant fund availability.
