Position Title Brand Marketing, Advertising and Licensing Manager

Position Summary
The Brand Marketing, Advertising and Licensing Manager works with the AVP of Communications and Brand Marketing to create marketing plans and advertising campaigns, as well as provide oversight for the university’s branding and licensing programs. This position works in conjunction with the AVP and Assistant Director of Communications and Brand Marketing to protect the UIW brand, support the University’s strategic priorities and further strengthen UIW’s reputation and brand regionally, nationally and globally. The Brand Marketing, Advertising and Licensing Manager reports to the AVP of Communications & Brand Marketing.

Three (3) years of relevant experience in advertising, branding and marketing in a higher education, advertising agency, or other relevant environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Must have a valid driver’s license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW .
Work Hours
Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals.

Description Of Job Duties
- Support university and high school programs and events through strategic placement and purchasing of advertising across a number of platforms.
- Develop strong and effective advertising campaign concepts, which strengthen brand awareness, maintain identity and meet organizational objectives.
- Serve as advisor to various university departments’ regarding their advertising needs, such as advertising plans, advertisement look-and-feel, placement, promotional material development, etc.
- Manage freelance staff including photographers, videographers, creatives and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Plan and monitor all advertising flight and broadcast schedules.
- Reconcile advertising invoices and maintain budget.
- Measure effectiveness, reach and return on investment for each media buy.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and representatives.
- Manage budgets and ensure cost efficiency.

- Oversee the UIW Visual Identity & Licensing program including contract preparation, completion of university forms, creating reports, etc.
- Serve as the chair of the Visual Corporate Identity Committee ( VCIC ), including creating agendas, keeping minutes, etc. along with AVP of Communications and Brand Marketing.
- Lead operational activities for UIW’s trademark licensing program, including but not limited to evaluating and approving artwork, detailed record keeping, and monitoring trademark usage.
- Lead university and department efforts to enhance the UIW brand.
- Lead the VCIC with the enforcement of university trademark rights.
- Work closely with UIW’s Licensing partner to positively promote the UIW image, protect its trademark rights, and generate royalty revenue. This will include promoting officially licensed UIW merchandise and trademarks to buyers, store managers, sponsors, and other individuals as appropriate.
- Provide day-to-day management of the UIW Licensing Program.
- Ensure the branding website is updated.
- Identify and address departments and vendors with deficient Licensing Program compliance.
- Prepare and present Licensing FAQs and presentations to university personnel.
- Support university events and student program activities to include program development, support, and promotion including serving as a handler for Red the Cardinal, UIW’s mascot. This includes scheduling and accompanying Red to events and activities.
- Supervise Branding and Licensing Graduate Assistant.

- Working knowledge of higher education landscape.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, public presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs.
- Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills; and demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA .
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.
Required Work Experience

- Knowledge of web-based design and content management applications.
