Position Summary
The Residency Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting operations and continued development of a residency program located in the Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas. The Residency Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Graduate Medical Education.

- Establish strong working relationships and assist program leaders with correspondence, calendaring, forms, financial processes, and communication.
- Serve as a point of contact for residents, fellows, and faculty with questions, problems, issues, or needs pertaining to the GME programs.
- Provide support to other residency program coordinators based on program needs.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, orientation, reappointments, and graduation to include:
- GME Track reporting including completion of the program survey.
- Application management and scheduling interviews, including travel, with prospective residents, fellows, and program faculty.
- Incoming resident registration and ranking.
- Developing/implementing a program to welcome/orientation, transition, and onboard all new residents and fellows.
- Verifying previous training and obtaining licenses and certificates necessary for trainees to practice medicine in Texas.
- Preparing contracts for new and continuing residents, fellows, faculty, and adjunct services.
- Coordinating graduation activities.
- Support wide array of activities for the graduate medical education programs.
- Maintain personnel files for residents/fellows.
- Create and review program letters of agreement (PLAs).
- Verify program requirements and institutional policies and procedures are met.
- Coordinate and arrange meetings, prepare agendas, reserve and prepare facilities, and record and transcribe meeting minutes.
- Create and analyze reports.
- Track finances related to GME .
- Manage confidential personnel matters and materials for the GME programs.
- Develop content for the website and update as needed.
- Order and maintain supplies and request maintenance as appropriate.
- May be required to provide off-site support to alternate UIW offices, hospitals, and off-campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
