What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Music Industry Summer Institute (Temporary) position at University of the Pacific?
Primary Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Music Industry Studies and the Director of the Pacific High School Summer Institute, lead the Music Industry program as part of the Pacific Summer High School Institute operations.
Essential Functions:
Lead and direct the Music Industry Summer Institute including confirming schedule, instructors and guest artists, advise in hiring of counselors and student engineers, working with graphic designer, studio manager, facilities and other University departments to facilitate safe operations throughout the two weeks of the Pacific High School Summer Institute, June 19 - July 1, 2022.
Duties also include recruiting and marketing, plus outreach to local secondary schools and educators informing them of summer music camp options.
Operations of the camp may include, but not limited to, marketing on social media, coordinating studio time during camp, practice room access, assisting faculty and students with problem-solving, keeping lists and records of student activities, work products, coordinating photoshoot for campers, using online collaboration tools to build and share content with students, and other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Two (2) years of experience leading a summer music business camp.
Experience in the music business.
Experience working with minors.
Preferred Qualifications:
College degree.
Leadership and communication skills.
University of the Pacific Alumni in the Arts & Entertainment concentration, Music Management or Music Industry Studies areas.
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
Physical Requirements:
