Position Overview
Primary Function :
Assists the University Registrar in all aspects of their work, but especially in the areas of information systems and reporting.
This position works with considerable independence and self-direction. Only the general direction and scope of the work to be accomplished are discussed with the supervisor.

Position Description
Typical Duties & Responsibilities :
- Provides a broad and variable range of management for the Office of the University Registrar, including supervising and training other staff members.
- Collaborates with and advises the University Registrar in establishing short- and long-term plans; evaluating the effectiveness of the office; ensuring accurate and timely information on information systems, policies, procedures, and student records; and creating an environment responsive to the needs of the office's various constituents and committed to the development and success of students.
- Works closely with faculty and other members of the staff to develop and implement procedures and systems for registration and records that support the academic programs of the University.
- Manages functional and technical rules and controls in the student information systems for functions including registration, waitlisting, and grading.
- Holds responsibility for regularly reporting university data to the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Holds primary responsibility for coding degree requirements into DegreeWorks, the university degree audit system.
- Interprets and implements a wide array of academic and administrative policies, ensuring that policies and regulations are administered with equity. Advises the University Registrar on revising existing or establishing new policies.
- Queries and reports on a wide array of internal and external data in support of institutional planning and decision-making.
- Manages implementations of new processes and technological solutions.
- Leads and manages departmental testing efforts for system upgrades.
- Serves as a functional resource for Ellucian Banner Student, DegreeWorks, Leepfrog / CourseLeaf, and other systems.
- Serves as a liaison with the University's information technology professionals.
- Ensures that academic and biographical records of current students and alumni of the University in student information systems comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 as amended (FERPA) and the office's record retention policies.
- Serves as a resource for and provides training to users of student information systems, imaging systems, and querying and reporting utilities.
