Pediatric Cardiology Echocardiographer

Seeking a highly skilled pediatric and adult congenital echocardiographer to join our team at Rocket Pediatrics Cardiology. This position specializes in performing pediatric and adult ultrasound imaging to assess heart defects and other structural abnormalities in pediatric and adult patients. Our age ranges will be from newborns to young adults. The ideal candidate should have expertise in basic pediatric and adult echocardiographic imaging technique with preference to some exposure to congenital heart defects. Having experience working with children and the ability to collaborate with pediatric cardiologist diagnostic imaging is also preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform high-quality echocardiography using standard techniques in the transthoracic imaging method.
• Analyze and interpret ultrasonic images to assist physicians in diagnosing heart defects and assessing ventricular systolic function as well as writing reports to assess accuracy of imaging.
• Work closely with pediatric cardiology to learn skills that aid in obtaining information in the pediatric population and to ensure timely diagnostic and accurate data.
• Working to schedule patient and maintain a smooth workflow for procedures. Ensure patient comfort and safety while performing cardiac ultrasound procedures, particularly in infants and children as well as those with complex congenital heart disease.
• Utilize any new echocardiographic software to improve imaging and Doppler techniques as well as assessment of cardiac function and structure.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment between patient and ordering needed supplies. Maintaining accurate documentation of imaging findings and collaborate with cardiology to discuss interesting patient cases.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in congenital and non-congenital cardiac imaging and participate in ongoing training and professional development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Education:
  • Associate's degree in diagnostic medical sonography, cardiovascular technology, or congenital heart sonography
• License/Certification:
  • Cardiac Sonographer Certification
• Years of Experience:
  • a minimum of 1 year of sonography experience
• Skills:
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to work with Physicians, Patients, and Employees at all levels.
  • Clinical Proficiency.
  • High degree of professionalism and strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills. MS Office proficiency.
  • Excellent judgement and discretion required in handling highly sensitive, privileged, and confidential information in a respectful manner and in accordance with HIPPA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography, cardiovascular technology, or congenital heart sonography
• License/Certification:
  • Pediatric Sonography Certification - ARDMS
  • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer - CCI
• Years of Experience:
  • 3 years of sonography experience with both adult and pediatric patients.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Occasional lifting, up to approximately 50 pounds

• Primarily inside in well-lighted, well-ventilated areas
• Exposure to medical patients in a clinical setting; including direct care and close proximity
