Job Description:
The Compensation Analyst is the key resource for administration of the University’s compensation programs. Analyzes and formulates recommendations regarding the development, implementation, updating and administration of the University’s compensation policies and programs. This position will analyze and evaluate job descriptions and salary information to determine appropriate classification, title, and/or pay grade; conduct job audits; prepare written reports and recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. (Will accept five (5) years of direct compensation experience in-lieu of a bachelor’s degree.)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in compensation or related area.
- Knowledge of labor laws, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other federal/state/local laws regulating employee compensation and privacy standards.
- Experience in gathering and analyzing statistical data and generating reports.
- Experience in human resource project management or compensation plan development.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications.
- Organizational skills to manage records and data and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office with ability to create complex reports using Excel (modeling scenarios, complex formulas, pivot tables, v-lookup, data validation etc.)
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Compensation experience in an academic or hospital environment.
- Human Resource experience in both public and private.
- Certified Compensation Professional Certification (CCP)
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
