Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Full-Time Research Study Coordinator for the Advancing Research in Cardiovascular Health and Endometriosis Study ( ARCHES ). The Study Coordinator will be primarily responsible for re-contacting and re-enrolling participants of the original Endometriosis, Natural History, Diagnosis, and Outcomes Study ( ENDO , 2007-2009); taking physical measures and preparing biospecimens at clinic visit, assisting with participant payment compensation, and managing the research database where follow-up questionnaire and health measurement data will be stored. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with study participants, healthcare professionals, and research team members. The Study Coordinator will also assist with helping to identify loss-to-follow-up participants via approved measures, ARCHES Institutional Review Board ( IRB ) protocols; and abstract, manuscript and grant writing as needed.

This is a full-time position, with an estimated commitment of 40 hours per week. The Study Coordinator will work closely with the research team to support the successful execution of health sciences research studies. The Study Coordinator may be a graduate student for which they would receive a tuition benefit, but would need to work fall, spring and summer semesters. Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Essential Functions:

  • Study Coordination: Assist in the coordination of ARCHES , including recruitment and enrollment of study participants, scheduling and conducting study visits, and ensuring compliance with study protocols.
  • Participant Contact: Maintain regular communication with study participants, including scheduling appointments, providing instructions for study procedures, and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Data Management: Collect, organize, and maintain study data using research databases such as REDCap or other relevant systems. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security throughout the study.
  • IRB Compliance: Familiarity with IRB regulations and procedures. Prepare and submit necessary documentation for IRB review and approval and ensure compliance with all applicable ethical guidelines.
  • Manuscript and Grant Writing: Assist in the preparation and editing of manuscripts, grants, and other research-related documents. Conduct literature reviews, summarize findings, and contribute to the writing and submission process.
  • Collaborative Support: Collaborate with the research team, principal investigators, and other study personnel to ensure effective coordination and implementation of study activities. Participate in team meetings, provide updates, and contribute to discussions.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks related to study coordination, such as organizing meetings, preparing agendas, maintaining study files, and managing correspondence.

Preferences

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences-related field or interest in health research. Pursuing or having obtained a Master’s degree in a health-related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Prior experience as a study coordinator or research assistant is highly desirable but not required.
  • IRB and Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with IRB processes, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements for human subjects research.
  • Research Databases: Experience with research databases such as REDCap or other electronic data capture systems. Proficiency in data entry, query generation, and data management.
  • Manuscript and Grant Writing: Strong writing skills with experience in manuscript preparation, grant writing, and literature reviews. Ability to communicate research findings effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and compliance with study protocols.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with study participants, healthcare professionals, and research team members.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ethical Conduct: Demonstrate a high level of integrity and adhere to ethical standards in research conduct and participant confidentiality.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., Stata, SAS ) is desirable but not required.
