Job Summary
The Population Sciences Trials Office at the Huntsman Cancer Institute has an immediate opening for a Study Coordinator. This position will coordinate the technical and administrative activities involved in the successful implementation and completion of clinical or research studies.
The Population Sciences Trials Office ( PSTO ) supports Investigators conducting studies aimed at preventing cancer in different populations and/or at improving outcomes and the quality of life among those diagnosed with cancer. This coordinator will work with a collaborative team of study support staff under the direction of the PSTO research manager to support the Principal Investigators in achieving study integrity and research objectives.
Depending on job need, employees may have a hybrid work schedule, working both remotely as well as on-site. For remote work, employees may need to provide their own home office space, internet connection, telephone, and have the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Identify potential study participants by screening the electronic medical record system.
Contact potential participants for study recruitment.
Consent and enroll participants as applicable.
Accurately capture and QC study data in a variety of databases.
Schedule and complete participant study visits and study procedures.
Ensure proper collection, processing, and shipment of specimens.
Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and close-out visits.
Coordinate and track participant study compensation.
Document any communication with potential and enrolled participants.
Assist in preparing and maintaining regulatory documentation.
Assist in maintaining study compliance.
Attend study team meetings and effectively communicate any problems as they arise.
Collaborate and liaise with other study team members and/or departments.
Other duties as assigned.

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient’s status and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures manual.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. IRB CITI Course in the Protection of Human Research subjects certificate obtained within six months of hire and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
Some departments may require IATA DGR training within six months.
