VP Area Academic Affairs Department 00870 - Ophthalmology-Research Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range $45,000 - $48,000 Close Date 06/26/2025 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary The Utah Retinal Reading Center ( UREAD ) seeks to contribute to the characterization of manifestation and progression of sight-treating and blinding eye diseases, focusing on the evaluation of treatment response to innovative therapeutic strategies. Using multimodal imaging technology, UREAD specializes in the standardized and systematic analysis (“grading”) of retinal imaging data within multicenter observational studies and interventional trials. More details at uread.orgThe Research Analyst performs a variety of research and administrative duties to support the management of clinical trials at the Utah Retinal Reading Center ( UREAD ), including independent duties related to collection, documentation, technical evaluation and compilation of medical research images and data under the direction of the Project Manager. He/she helps to assign reader grading tasks, file study documents, track certification of site technicians, and track submission of images and functional tests for grading. He/she also helps to query sites, enter data, perform source document verification, and conduct quality control (QC) activities. Responsibilities Essential Functions:
- Routine communication and correspondence with sites, sponsors, and CRO’s regarding study specifics and image issues
- Assist with site certification activities
- Confirm and document receipt of all image materials received at UREAD , including technical evaluation of imaging data
- Prepare materials for grading, arbitration, quality assurance and quality control
- Overview and assignment of grading tasks to readers
- Respond to data queries as appropriate
- Assist all UREAD staff members as necessary to meet the needs of the various studies
- Attend UREAD group meetings and study conference calls, as appropriate
- Provides coverage for assigned studies when PM is out of the office or unavailable. This may include time sensitive activities such as patient screening eligibility and sponsor requests

- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field, or equivalency, plus two years of related experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
- A valid Utah Driver’s License may be required in certain departments.
