JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for accurate, correct routine and stat tissue processing including embedment, microtomy, mounting, and staining. Performs routine and special histology including advanced immunocytochemical and histochemical testing. Recognizes procedural, instrument and quality control problems and notifies Charge Histotechnolgist. Follows guidelines to correct problems or errors. Prepares reagents, stains and solutions according to guidelines.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate science field and Histotechnologist HTL (ASCP) certified, or eligible in 1 year. Associates degree with at least 12 credits in Biology/Chemistry is the minimum education for Histotechnician.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Experience: Prefer 1 year in Histology Lab comparable to UVMMC.
WAGE NOTE:
The posted wage is for the Histotechnologist. The Histotechnician wage range is $26.76 - $33.46 - $40.17.
SIGN ON BONUS:
External candidates are eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus. Current employees of the UVM Health Network are not eligible for this bonus. Additional terms and conditions apply.
RELOCATION:
We are offering a relocation package of up to $9,200 for eligible candidates relocating more than 50 miles. Additional terms and conditions apply.
