What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Scientist II position at University of Vermont Medical Center?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory diagnostic tests. Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment. Understands the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/instrument issues increase through the range of MLS I to MLS III.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry and current Medical Laboratory Scientist certification. (Certification tracked by department.)
EXPERIENCE:
Meets requirements of MLS I. Expanded knowledge of laboratory tests. Candidate will be hired in as an MLS I or MLS II based on experience. Salary in posting reflects pay of MLS II position.
SCHEDULE NOTE: Shift will be from 3:30 pm - 12:00 am. This position also has 3 weekend shifts per month.
SIGN ON BONUS:
External candidates are eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus. Current employees of the UVM Medical Center and its affiliates are not eligible for this bonus. Additional terms and conditions apply.
RELOCATION:We are offering a relocation package of up to $9,200 for eligible candidates relocating more than 50 miles. Additional terms and conditions apply.
