JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Senior Network Engineer will support enterprise-wide LAN / WAN computer networks and systems across multiple platforms. This position is responsible for analyzing needs, developing and implementing solutions, troubleshooting network problems, and maintaining and supporting the resulting systems over time. Typical duties of this position involve configuration, support, and management of LAN / WAN switches and routers, gateways, firewalls, modems, CSU / DSU's, and management tools as well as design of local and wide area network and wireless solutions. The Network Engineer is also responsible for assuring that appropriate network security is in place at all times. Staff must provide support coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Shift coverage and on-call coverage may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement complex networking solutions.
- Lead efforts in resolving critical networking issues.
- Ensure network security, compliance, and reliability across the hospital.
- Act as a resource and mentor for junior staff members.
- Optimize hospital-wide network performance for critical care systems.
- Oversee network integration with other hospital IT systems.
- Coordinate and lead network upgrade and expansion projects.
- Monitor network security and address vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with vendors for system upgrades and troubleshooting.
- Analyze and implement improvements in networking protocols.
