Universal Mortgage Loan Specialist – Mortgage Loan Processor & Closer
SUMMARY:
A Universal Mortgage Loan Specialist will complete both the processing and closing tasks of a mortgage loan. Specifically, this position is responsible for analyzing and evaluating all types of mortgage applications such as FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, VHDA, USDA and Credit Union guidelines; reviewing all information provided within a loan file for compliance with applicable investor guidelines, regulations, and investor policies as well as coordinating with the originator, underwriter, and internal staff members to get the loan to the closing table. This position will also prepare, compile, and organize legal documents for the settlement phase of residential mortgages for various loan types and products. An ideal candidate will have minimum 3-5 years mortgage experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, and extremely organized and detail-oriented with the ability to time manage and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Serves as liaison between loan originators and underwriting by advising loan officers and borrowers of loan conditions and requirements.
- Gathers approval conditions, review documentation for accuracy and completeness, and verify that documentation will clear the approval conditions, submitting accurate and complete files to underwriting.
- Deliver mortgages loan commitment letters to borrowers, real estate agents, and mortgage loan originators within specified timelines.
- Tracks and manages individual pipeline to meet deadlines of all loan commitments, rate lock expirations, and closing dates to ensure a positive experience for our members and borrowers.
- Prepares and reviews loan closing packages, ensuring accuracy, completeness, salability, and compliance, coordinating with borrowers, real estate agents, or title companies as needed for updated documentation.
- Is responsible for coordinating all file changes with the settlement agent leading up to closing.
- Prepare closing disclosures in coordination with settlement agent and in compliance with TRID timing to closing.
- Submits complete and accurate closing package to settlement agent and reviews the note, mortgage, and applicable riders to ensure the loan information meets the mortgage commitment.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of similar or related experience
- Associate degree and/or specialized training in mortgage or financial services strongly preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Technically savvy
