What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP/APP)-Pediatric Critical Care Medicine position at University of Virginia Health System?
UVA Health Children’s Heart Center maintains a busy surgical service caring for all levels of neonatal, pediatric and adult congenital heart disease. We maintain an active heart failure and transplant program providing ECMO and VAD support. APP’s co-manage patients collaboratively with daily participation of critical care, cardiology, surgical attendings and house staff.
The APP team has developed an active vascular access/PICC program serving our critical care patients. Ample opportunities exist for research, quality improvement and programmatic development in a collaborative and congenial work environment.

Pediatric Critical Care experienced preferred.

Position will require a variety of shifts d/t 24/7 nature of the position.
The mission of the Pediatric ICU Advanced Practice Provider team is to serve patients, families, and our team by delivering excellent patient care through consistent application of clinical expertise and evidence-based practice. We foster an environment of safety through continuity of care, building relationships, advocacy and education.
Position Compensation Range: $93,142.40 - $149,032.00 AnnualMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master’s degree.
Experience: Department and unit specific.
Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
