Harborview Medical Center (HMC) is enhancing its clinical research capabilities through a dedicated Ambulatory Research and Clinical Trials Center. In collaboration with the UW School of Medicine (SOM), Clinical Trials Office (CTO), and Translational Research Unit (TRU), this suite will prioritize exceptional clinical research, inclusivity, and community engagement, focusing on serving diverse and underserved populations. The Manager of the Ambulatory Research and Clinical Trials Center will manage the operational and administrative aspects of the Research Center, supporting strategic objectives by ensuring efficient operations, compliance with regulatory standards, and high-quality service delivery. This role requires strong leadership skills, research administration experience, and the ability to manage complex projects and workflows

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the Physician Leader of the Ambulatory Research and Clinical Trials Center to oversee all aspects of the clinical research portfolio
Oversee the processes for study start-up and on-going study management from start to finish working closely with the CTO Regulatory coordinators to manage, review, and initiate trials to ensure competitive activation and enrollment timelines
oversee ongoing research projects, troubleshoot operational issues on a daily basis and assist with any and all aspects of their team's work including, and not limited to, managing the research team protocol portfolio including budgets, patient visits, transporting specimens, data entry, query resolution, and working with study monitors
Work closely with major internal (PI, Regulatory, Legal, Budget, Finance, Billing Compliance, Infusion, Pharmacy) and external (sponsors, facilities, CROs, Subcontractors, Collaborators) stakeholders to develop project plans and support day to day operations of the clinical research unit. The manager will be responsible for balancing the needs of multiple research projects taking place in the unit and across the entity
Exercise independent judgement to be accountable for overseeing, coordinating, and managing business operations (including financial and related information systems), utilization management and productivity for the Ambulatory Research and Clinical Trials Center at HMC
Responsible for developing protocols and workflows for the new space and operating outside of the unit, and working with researchers, medical leadership, SOM, CTO, TRU, and HMC Leadership

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or Social Work
RN license to practice in the state of Washington
At least 3 years of experience in research administration or a related field, with demonstrated leadership capabilities
