UW Medical Center Montlake - Patient Relations has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator
WORK SCHEDULE
24 hours per week
Day Shift
Position is expected to last 6 months
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Serve as a member of multi-disciplinary teams throughout UWMC and external affiliated organizations
Gain expertise in patient experiences
Critical liaison between and among patients, their representatives, UW Montlake and Northwest clinic leaders, and system leadership to enhance the
patient and family experience
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the initial point of contact for the department
Communicate directly with patients and family members reaching out to Patient Relations to share their quality of care and service concerns
Responsible for identifying and understanding the reported concerns from patients and family members
Explain policies, procedures, rights and applicable regulations to patients and provide informational resources about available services
Direct patient inquiries to appropriate staff for point of service resolution
Direct formal grievances to Patient Relations managers for formal review and investigation
REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty
OR equivalent education/experience
DESIRED
Bachelor’s degree
Excellent interpersonal communication and understanding—listening, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
Exemplary organizational skills: incumbent must demonstrate ability to stay organized amidst a myriad of program details and tasks
Experience in resolving customer concerns as a core function of the job
Familiar with medical terminology
