The Department of Pharmacy has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Consultant/Biostatistician to join their team.
The individual in this position will utilize statistical modeling for disease progression, informing such models with real world and clinical trial data. This position will work on the Personalized Risk-Adaptive Surveillance Strategies in Cancer (PRAISE) study, funded by the National Cancer Institute as well as performance-based risk sharing arrangements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
70% - Manipulation and analysis of large EHR dataset and claims data. Preparation of analytic datasets. For PRAISE, work with interdisciplinary research team to develop risk prediction model and simulation model using EHR data and advanced statistical techniques. PBRSA work will employ cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) to quantitatively assess the value provided by a new health technology
15% - Performing literature and data set reviews. Maintain notes and write reports describing rationale, methods, results, and interpretation of analyses
15% - Participate in regularly scheduled research meetings and teleconferences. Participate in research dissemination including conferences and peer reviewed journal publications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Masters Degree in Health outcomes, biostatistics, statistics epidemiology, public health, health services or related field
Two to three years of relevant experience: knowledge of or ability to quickly learn clinical background required for analysis of projects.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to detect problems in data or analytic results and find appropriate remedies.
Ability to program in at least one statistical programming language (i.e. R) and familiarity with at least one major statistical analysis package (i.e. Stata, R).
Ability to write clearly and prepare results for publication and/or dissemination
