Experience with non-academic advising students, individually and in groups. Basic assessment practices and principles for student affairs programs and services. Experience and skill in dealing with multiple constituents, including faculty, students, administrators, and external. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in developing, coordinating and leading programs and group training sessions.
Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal laws which impact the work associated with Fraternity & Sorority Life.
- 60% - Manage the advising of Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) governing bodies (including CPC, IFC, MGC, and NPHC) and chapter leaders. Offer support and guidance to 400 FSL affiliated chapter members. Assist with the orientation and training of Fraternity & Sorority officers and members. Assist Fraternities & Sororities to build internal unity and enhance relationships between groups. Manage FSL procedures including registration status and compliance with the University policies and regulations. Remain aware of local, state, and federal legislation and its impacts on FSL related work and programmatic experiences and ensuring compliance. Update and maintain grade reports and rosters and oversee assessment procedures to ensure student learning outcomes. Oversee all student development programming related to FSL. Supervise two FSL graduate assistants and one Program Assistant. - (Essential)
- 15% - Serve as the primary point of contact for campus partners on FSL related initiatives; coordinate and collaborate with campus partners with regards to FSL student support including the Center for Academic Success, the Dean of Students Office, Title IX, etc. to enhance student retention and success. Serve as the subject matter expert on FSL best practices. Develops programming that centers around health, safety, and well-being in support of FSL. Engages in efforts around hazing prevention and risk reduction involving FSL. Represents the University with regional and national headquarters partners. - (Essential)
- 10% - Work with prospective FSL Interest Groups regarding gaining active status on UWF’s campus and growing the FSL community; help coordinate and support campus visits, appropriate reservations, etc. - (Essential)
- 5% - Represent the Office of Student Engagement at Student Engagement department-wide initiatives and campus events. Represent Student Engagement at all home football games. Ensure FSL student group compliance with University policies and regulations at events. Respond to incidents as appropriate. - (Essential)
- 5% - Serve on University committees, task forces, and teams as assigned. Represents Student Engagement, the Division of Academic Engagement and Student Affairs, and/or the University at/on local, state, regional, and/or national events/committees. - (Essential)
