Position Title (Classification Title) : Assistant Director 100590

Working Title : Assistant Director, High-Impact Practices & Community Engagement

Job Summary : The Assistant Director of High-Impact Practices (HIPs) & Community Engagement is responsible for managing key aspects of the university's community engagement and HIP programs. This role includes overseeing the university's community engagement reporting process, facilitating key committees and meetings related to HIPs / community engagement, administering the HIP grant process, and providing career-related coaching for students and alumni. Additionally, the Assistant Director will support performance-based funding metrics related to HIPs, assist in streamlining university internship efforts, and manage various administrative, budgetary, and technology-related tasks in support of HIP and community engagement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications : Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience : or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications -Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively interact with, develop, and sustain relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with budget management, grant administration, and technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with performance-based funding models in higher education.
  • Have the ability to interpret, analyze, and process various forms of data effectively.

Essential Functions / Job Duties :

  • 40% - Administration : -Manage the HIP grant process, including administration, application review, and funding decision documentation. -Administer the HIP vetting and designation process in collaboration with the HIP Oversight Committee. -Administer the HIP Scholarship and HIP Showcase awards programs. -Oversee the HIP and community engagement budget, including resource allocation and tracking expenditures. -Facilitate annual reporting for HIPs, ensuring timely and accurate submission of data. -Support performance-based funding metrics related to HIPs, including data collection and reporting on student outcomes and institutional performance. -Support the implementation of Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) initiatives and events in collaboration with the QEP Director. -Oversee the community engagement reporting process for the institution. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Collaboration & Involvement : -Actively collaborate with faculty to support the development and enhancement of HIPS by providing individualized consultations and sharing resources tailored to specific disciplines. -Coordinate opportunities for faculty to engage in professional development focused on HIP implementation and improvement. -Facilitate the HIP Oversight Committee, guiding the steering of high-impact practices across the university. -Lead and coordinate HIP Liaison meetings to support collaboration between colleges / schools. -Oversee the community engagement coordinating committee's efforts to build strong relationships with university partners and implement community engagement strategies. -Assist in streamlining university internship efforts and documentation. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Career Coaching & Advising : -Facilitate career coaching appointments for students and alumni, offering guidance on career / major choices, job search strategies, experiential learning, and other career-related topics. -Contribute to the development and delivery of career-related presentations and assist with associated grading assignments - (Essential)
  • 5% - Marketing & Technology : -Assist with departmental social media and website updates to promote HIP, community engagement, and other career-related activities -Support technology decisions and administration, including the use of platforms related to HIPs, experiential learning, and career services. - (Essential)
  • Physical Demands :
