- 15% - Conducts investigations into violations of federal, state and local laws; secures and conducts preliminary investigations at crime scenes; collects, identifies and preserves evidence; makes official reports of complaints and all criminal and non-criminal miscellaneous incidents that he/she investigates on university property; assists in crowd, mob and riot control activities; coordinates law enforcement activities and other agencies as required. - (Essential)
- 15% - Patrol the University campus, either on foot or in a police vehicle, to enforce laws and provide a maximum crime deterrence through conspicuous, aggressive patrol of grounds and other campus facilities. - (Essential)
- 10% - Provides fire watch for all buildings, property and other facilities on campus; reports violations of environmental health, safety, and fire codes; assists in evacuating persons housed in or otherwise occupying areas threatened by fire or other disaster; attempts to control fires pending arrival of local fire departments; assists in search and rescue activities. - (Essential)
- 10% - Provides non-law enforcement public services as authorized by law and consistent with good police practices and which are of benefit to students, faculty, staff and visitors; maintains good police/community relations by focusing on information and education which culminates in community action and crime prevention. - (Essential)
