Job Summary

The digital content strategist works with the Assistant Vice President for University Communications and Marketing to create and implement digital marketing strategies to align organic messaging with paid strategies for digital, web, social, and mobile applications, digital screens, etc. Create and manage narrative surrounding the University & the University brand to grow audience, increase enrollment, and contribute to the university strategic plan. This individual will research and execute best practices for optimizing our digital presence through research, testing, services, and digital technology developments to identify, monitor, and access cutting-edge digital opportunities. This individual will use analytical data to measure success and make strategic decisions. This role will trend-spot and identify audience preferences related to new campaigns and will liaise with UCM colleagues to optimize our user experience and ensure brand consistency. The creation of social media strategies will live within this position for building and executing social campaigns that maximize organic traffic and enhance constituent interactions with UWG.

Responsibilities

Develops unique strategies and build upon current brand strategies within the digital arena to meet/exceed objectives' Executes projects to be high quality, on time, and costeffective/on budget. Fosters timeline development and monitors progress, ensuring deadlines are met. Develops strong, trusting relationships between campus clients and agency partners related to digital strategy, ideation, and execution. Manages campus expectations, bringing issues/concerns to attention before they become challenges. Proactively keeps abreast of assigned clients' marketing and media plans, and provides technological solutions, including rich media, site optimization, promotional ideas, mobile applications, social networks, etc. Manages the institution¿s digital screen presence, ensuring institutional content is deployed appropriately and monitoring departmental content for audience relevance and brand compliance. Manages the institution¿s official mobile application, disseminating relevant, timely information to a variety of audiences and liaising with campus partners and external vendors to optimize the application¿s performance and capacity. Writes communications briefs, ensuring that creative and media were effectively integrated. Collaborates in research studies that yield rich insights into consumer online behavior and key motivational/attitudinal behavior. Maintains a total understanding of online target audience and mindset modes. Provides campaign performance reporting and analysis to UCM leadership. Planning, strategizing, and managing the President's and First Lady's social media presence on multiple platforms. Manages comprehensive social media strategy across all platforms. Demonstrates an extensive understanding of all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Develops and implements creative, innovative, and cutting-edge ways of promoting UWG through social media, such as Facebook Live events, viral videos, and contests. Monitors real-time messaging on social media platforms. Responds to questions on social media about subjects such as admissions, academic advisement, academic programs, and financial aid.

Provides training and education for university constituents on digital and social media policy and best practices.

Manages implementation of brand positioning on social media through student ambassadors, influencers, and other trending social avenues. Works with UCM and institutional leadership to disseminate information in challenge or crisis situations on an on-call basis.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
Two to three years of professional experience in digital and social media development, implementation, marketing, and management and one year of experience in developing social media strategy.

Understanding of content management systems.

Proposed Salary

$62,000.00 - $64,500.00 Annually. Paid on a Monthly Basis.

Decision Making /Consequences of Error
The digital content strategist serves in a critical role for building and executing social media strategies that maximize organic traffic and enhance constituent interactions with UWG. This role is also critical in the monitoring and managing of challenge and crisis communications that may impact our institutional reputation. The digital content strategist will be required to determine what posts to develop for creative messaging, including what events or messages to highlight; determine if a post made by others to UWG's social media channels should be referred to institutional leadership; determine if messaging posted on UWG-sponsored social media pages follows the university's social media policy; what methods should be used to train others on the social media policy; what metrics should be put in place to determine effectiveness.
