Limited Term Instructor - Secondary English Education

The department of Early Childhood through Secondary Education and Read seeks a limited-term instructor in Secondary English Education to join our growing undergraduate and graduate secondary education programs. The preferred candidate will have experience teaching online and face to face courses and can demonstrate excellence in the classroom. They will also travel to field-based experiences to supervise students. We are a dedicated team that values collaboration and making decisions in the best interests of our students.

• Earned doctorate in English Education or closely related field (ABD will be considered)
• Minimum of 3 years experience teaching English in grades 6-12 in a school setting
• Expertise in inclusive/collaborative settings
• Experience with technology and online teaching in educational settings
• Ability to maintain an active career balanced across the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service

• State or national educator certification/licensure in English
• Teaching diverse student populations including ELL and at-risk students
• Preparing teacher candidates for teacher certification
• Delivering and developing online instruction
• Working collaboratively with program colleagues to expand undergraduate and graduate curricula, using multiple delivery formats
• Working collaboratively across disciplines at the department level
• Working collaboratively with university/community partners

Salary is commensurate with experience.
