Position Name: Clinical Science – Social Determinants of Health Instructor
Classification: Part-Time, Non-Benefitted
FTE: Less than 50% time
Work Hours: Variable
Department/Division: Clinical Science/College of Chiropractic
Supervisor: Associate Dean, College of Chiropractic
POSITION SUMMARY
The instructor in this position will provide students with an introduction to the social determinants of health. The instructor will integrate the concepts of social determinants of health and encourage students to put these concepts into action. It is a foundational course centering on equipping students with the skills to advance on their professional journey towards becoming a clinical practitioner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
60% Prepares lessons and teaches procedures based on existing syllabus.
20% Compiles, administers, and grades examinations.
5% Maintains a safe environment in the classroom.
5% Creates syllabi and course outline.
5% Contributes to evaluations of students’ non-cognitive behavior.

- Have sufficient stamina to provide lecture and/or lab instruction with brief breaks over a 1 to 4-hour period.
- Have sufficient mobility to move among students engaged in various types of lab activities.
- Have sufficient visual acuity to accurately identify pertinent structures and/or details as instructional activities demand.
- Have sufficient manual dexterity to operate pertinent tools and/or equipment as instructional activities demand.
