Work Schedule : This is a part-time 80% FTE, day shift. Monday through Friday starting between the hours of 7 : 30 AM and 8 : 30 AM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Pay : UW Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Work experience that is relevant to the position will be taken into consideration when determining the starting base pay. External hires may be eligible for a $4,800 sign on bonus. We are seeking a Medical Assistant to :
- Join the medical specialists at the UW Carbone Cancer Center who are proud to be nationally recognized for delivering the best in cancer care.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary experts in palliative care, nutrition, genetics and health psychology to customize each patient's plan of care.
- Provide quality care in a compassionate and patient-family centered environment.
- Promote healthy lifestyles, wellness and education.
- Prepare patients for examination, obtain vital signs, document chief complaint, medications and allergies and administer medications and treatments. - Completion of an accredited medical assistant program OR
- Licensure as an LPN OR
- Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program OR
- Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee OR
- Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated OR
- One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification Work Experience : Preferred - One (1) year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Licenses and Certifications : Minimum -
- Certified as CMA, RMA, or CCMA or eligible for certification. Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date.
- If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
