Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Survey Center is an organization which provides high quality data collection for survey research projects for universities and state agencies. Interviews are conducted by telephone, mail, web, and in person.

This position, which reports to the Director of Project Management of the Survey Center, will involve an interesting and wide variety of duties associated with survey data collection activities for all types of survey projects covering different topics. Responsibilities include assisting with data collection activities, supporting client relations, working with senior staff on face-to-face, web, mail, telephone, mixed mode and other types of surveys, logistical problem solving, basic data cleaning and sample management.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior staff on some of our largest and most impactful studies, including the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study, Midlife in the U.S., and WisconSays, our probability-based online panel. We are looking for a detail-oriented and empathetic professional with exceptional communication skills to serve as a vital link between the study team and respondents. In this role, you will address inquiries, resolve concerns, and ensure a positive and professional experience for respondents, all while adhering to strict study protocols and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Develops, designs, and conducts one or more research projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under moderate supervision.
  • 25% Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results
  • 5% Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • 10% Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences
  • 25% Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials
  • 5% Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers
  • 10% Performs literature reviews and writes reports
  • 20% Serve as primary liaison between study team and respondents, providing communication to respondents, addressing respondent inquiries and concerns promptly, professionally, and according to study protocol.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications-
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience required, with experience in survey data collection, data entry, or project management preferred
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, or research activities at once
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow complex survey research protocols
  • Experience communicating by phone and email with diverse populations

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $44,543 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The typical starting salary for this position is $44,543 - $63,697 depending on qualifications and experience. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays and paid time off; competitive insurance and saving accounts; and retirement benefits.
