Health Sciences Research Analyst

Job Summary:

This position will support Dr. Linda D. Oakley's (https://nursing.wisc.edu/staff/oakley-linda-d/) program of nursing research aimed at advancing health equity by developing community-engaged Dane County partnerships in heart health promotion. The position will support Dr. Oakley and the research team by providing data management and statistical data analysis for submission of evidence-based research papers to health sciences journals and new grant proposals. For successful candidates, there is an option for article co-authorship.

The Health Sciences Research Analyst will work with Dr. Oakley and her research team in statistical programs (SPSS, R, etc.) to analyze investigator-collected community health survey and other data across projects. The Analyst will prepare outputs for review with Dr. Oakley and document methodology and findings for publication. Responsibilities include creating visualizations of data (tables, charts, graphs) for internal analysis, presentations and publications. The Analyst will also assist the PI with grant proposal development. Weekly meetings will help ensure great communication and progress.

FTE is negotiable for this one-year position within the range of 30-50% to meet both employee and project needs.

Responsibilities:

Assists with the analysis and interpretation of collected data and drafts reports to develop and communicate research findings.

• 50% Analyzes data and summarizes research results for a defined research area or study by utilizing established processes
• 25% Prepares reports and manuscripts and assists with the development and presentation of materials through various communication platforms
• 20% Maintains organization of research records and responds to data requests and inquiries
• 5% Serves as an initial point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic information about result analysis and methodologies, answers questions as needed

Qualifications:

Well-qualified candidates have the following required qualifications:

At least 1 year of hands-on experience analyzing investigator-collected data (e.g. interviews, surveys), preparing health science data for analysis, statistical analysis programs (e.g. SPSS, R); data cleaning; and using APA writing guidelines for analysis plans, results, tables, and figures.

Extensive understanding and working knowledge of ethical data management, biostatistical analysis, and reporting skills.

Self-motivated, and team player willing to support this study's co-investigators and graduate students with steps towards publication and grant funding.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Work Type:

Part Time: 30% - 50%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 12 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Minimum $51,955 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The expected salary for this position starts at a rate of $51,955. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
