Job Summary:

Teach CHICLA 368 "Chicana/o and Latina/o Literatures" online at the UW-Madison main campus from 6/16/2025-7/13/2025. For a full list of CLS Program courses, visit https://guide.wisc.edu/courses/chicla/.
Duties include preparing syllabi and modules in the Canvas online course management system, preparing course materials; presenting virtual lectures as appropriate, and facilitating online discussions and other interactive learning activities. Duties also include preparing and administering assignments, grading student work, and holding virtual office hours.

Responsibilities: Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
  • 45% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • 45% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • 10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

The applicant should demonstrate familiarity with the interdisciplinary field of Latina/o/x Studies.

Preferred
PhD

Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to teach courses in Chicana/o/x/e and Latina/o/x/e studies and work effectively with students of varied backgrounds.

Work Type:

Part Time: 90%

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 1 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Minimum $50,000 SUMMER SESSION
Depending on Qualifications

There is a possibility this position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more course(s) listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.
