What are the responsibilities and job description for the Palliative Care-Focused Radiation Oncologist position at University of Wisconsin Madison?
The Department of Human Oncology (DHO) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health has an opening for a CHS track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level located at both our Madison-based main campus and our East Campus and Johnson Creek outreach clinics.
Responsibilities:This position will primarily involve provision of radiation oncology clinical services with primary focus on palliative radiation therapy. Activities will include performing new patient consultation, weekly patient management and supervision of external beam radiation treatment programs. Thorough training and experience with IMRT/SBRT, Tomotherapy, 4DRT, stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy are strongly desired. In addition, clinical trials experience, participation and development is strongly encouraged as a component of the clinical practice. An active teaching role for residents in training is also anticipated.
The chosen applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
The chosen candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

- Completion of residency training in Radiation Oncology and Board certification (or expected within 2 years of hiring).
- Post-residency clinical experience valuable but not mandatory.
For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.
