Job Summary:
The Research RN will support the portfolio of studies managed by the Emergency Department (ED) Research Coordinator Program in the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine. Duties may include pre-implementation work with a goal of operationalizing clinical research protocols as well as supporting the implementation of research activities in the University Hospital ED. This Research RN will support eligibility review for potential participants, will collect biological samples for research purposes (blood, urine, saliva), and will support chart review as required.
Responsibilities:
Assists in research logistic management, screens study participants, and provides participant information and clinical care according to established research plans to ensure accuracy of research.- 15% Secures and schedules logistics for clinical research projects according to the research plan
- 25% Assists in the recruitment and screening of subjects for clinical studies by conducting physical health assessments
- 5% Provides professional nursing care to patients according to established protocols
- 15% Serves as main point of contact and liaison to project participants, investigators, research sponsors, and the research team delivering study information in accordance with established research project standards and protocols
- 25% Collects, verifies, and enters data into database and analyzes clinical information data
- 10% Serves a primary point of contact for emergent study participant situations related to adverse effects or complications of the study
- 5% May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students

Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical care setting required.
- Previous experience in an Emergency Department setting.
Preferred:
- Experience working with data collection/data management or with research-oriented projects.
- Registered Nurse (RN), State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure.
Work Type:
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Minimum $41.00 HOURLY

The starting salary for the position is $41.00 per hour but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
This position is paid hourly due to the sporadic nature of the hours.
