Job Summary:

If you're an energetic, organized, detail-driven individual who enjoys working with college students and in support of college student mental health and well-being and you have outreach and event planning experience, consider applying for this role on our Student Flourishing Team.

Course Administration
Coordinate scheduling for The Art and Science of Human Flourishing (ASHF, Psych 120) with cross-listed departments, including classroom space, enrollment caps, section requisites, and overall class schedule including discussion section details. Oversee section assignments for instructors and TAs. Attend ASHF course to understand the scientific framework, key themes and experiential aspects of the course. Request course demographic reports from the Registrar, create demographic data visuals for ppt presentations, provide basic support to course instructors, schedule instructor meetings, take meeting notes and follow through on next steps. Summarize course evaluations and help recruit graduate TAs for the course. Coordinate scheduling of any Healthy Minds on Campus and Student Flourishing Ambassador presentations in ASHF course with instructional team.

Campus relations
Promote the ASHF course to incoming students and their families, the campus advising community and other key partners and programs, including the Parent and Family Program and SOAR. Support the expansion of campus partnerships including key student-facing units and student organizations; update ASHF promotional materials.

Serve as Advisor to Healthy Minds on Campus student organization, guide student org on its finances, event planning. Attend at least one meeting per month (often in the early evening) with the student leadership of the organization. Meet with the co-presidents at least once monthly for check-in's and to provide guidance as the organization expands its presence on campus. Oversee the emerging Student Flourishing Ambassador program, help create a system for coordination of campus outreach for Ambassador program, implement regular assessments and feedback from ambassadors and campus partners on how to improve the program and expand its campus presence.

Outreach
Support the administration/logistics as the student flourishing team works adapts the Student Flourishing Teaching Workshop for an online, blended delivery on edX.
Oversee external user access to Canvas demo Flourishing course.
Assist the Director on tasks related to communications and fundraising.
Other duties as assigned.

Organizes the development and delivery of outreach programs, including the responsibility for staffing. Assists with policy development and organizes resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
  • 25% Directs the implementation of program policies and procedures
  • 25% Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships to promote the outreach program
  • 20% Schedules and secures logistics and resources in support of an outreach program
  • 15% Schedules day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
  • 15% Identifies opportunities for program improvement or new outreach program development

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years prior experience working in program administration/coordination or program outreach
  • Demonstrated interest in individual and societal well-being
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with college students
  • Experience with a personal mindfulness and wellbeing practice
  • Skilled in adapting and changing to evolving program needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with prior experience engaging with people from a range of backgrounds
  • Familiarity with university administrative processes

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position will require work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

This position may require occasional evening work, including meetings with students. It may also require periodic (a few times a year) weekend work when training new cohorts of student leaders and ambassadors.

Minimum $58,450 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The typical starting range for this position is $58,450 to $68,793. Actual rate will be based on qualifications and experience.
