Position Summary: |
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant, associate, or full professor faculty role in Information Systems - Cyber Intelligence. This position will begin in August 2024, teach cybersecurity and information systems related courses and support the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence operations and industry related activities. Programs in the Information Systems discipline are AACSB accredited and include a Master of Science in Information Technology Management, postgraduate analytics certificates, and undergraduate majors in Information Systems and Applied Computing and a minor and certificate in Cybersecurity. Information Systems faculty are an integral component of the newly formed School of Informatics which embraces the art, science, and business of digital information in all its business informatics analysis and management aspects: procurement, processing, protection, presentation, and promotion. The School of Informatics is also actively engaged in the region through the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, Digital Marketing Clinic, and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Cybersecurity and Information Systems faculty partner with other disciplines across the college and campus to offer innovative interdisciplinary business and informatics curriculum and corporate educational programs. Responsibilities |
Teach a range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Publish scholarly and/or practitioner articles in peer-reviewed journals as applicable. Play an active role in the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, college and university service opportunities, and industry engagement activities. |
Qualifications | |
Required: |
An earned doctorate from a recognized and accredited institution (AACSB, ABET, or commensurate accreditation) in business, applied analytics, cybersecurity, or information technology fields (ABDs will be considered). Candidates with a similar master's degree and at least 5 years applied cybersecurity industry experience and industry certification (i.e. CISSP/SSCP, CISM or similar) will be considered for a Teaching Assistant Professor non-tenure track role. Official transcripts showing conferment of degree(s) will be required prior to starting employment. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. |
Preferred: |
Two or more years of teaching experience, or a combination of relevant Cybersecurity industry and teaching experience. Teaching or research experience in one of the following areas: cybersecurity threat intelligence, network security, data science/analytics, and intelligent systems/AI application development. The demonstrated capacity to collaborate with individuals in other academic fields, local businesses, or community stakeholders to make our programs more innovative and integrated with the regional technology ecosystem. |
