JOB DETAILS:
Position Summary
This is a professional level position which acts as a liaison between the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), the University of Wisconsin System Administration (UWSA), the WI Department of Administration (DOA), and the vendor community.
Researches, creates, and solicits bids and proposals from third party suppliers for institution level procurements to provide cost-effective materials and services within an assigned commodity area or business unit. Negotiates procurement contract terms and signs resulting contracts on behalf of the institution or business unit.
Shift: 7:45am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in business or related degree, and minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing, contracting negotiation and management, customer service or related field
- Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimums. An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for a degree.
- Effective written and verbal skills
- Knowledge and adaptation of computer programs: Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer and Chrome, Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of governmental procurement regulations and laws.
- Experience within WI higher education or WI state government (purchasing or finance).
- Knowledge of contract development, negotiation skills and industry best practices used in the procurement of goods and services.
- Experience with ERP Systems, primarily Workday and Jaggaer
- Spend analytics experience

Terms of Employment
This is an Academic Staff annual appointment, exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
