Job Summary : Reporting to the Director of Professional Development Programs, the program director will develop and deliver short courses in the area of Electrical Engineering focused on power engineering and electrification. Courses in the portfolio are focused on hybrid and electric vehicles, electric motors & drives, and power electronics.The program director will be expected to seek out innovative ways to provide continuing education; conduct programs that are financially self-supporting; and develop and maintain relationships with other university departments and various outside associations for the purpose of advancing knowledge and developing content.Expected activities include teaching, recruiting and communicating with prospective students, identifying student needs, developing instructional materials, arranging for faculty and guest instructors, assessing course evaluation results, and maintaining financially self-supporting budgets. The applicant must have professional knowledge of and experience with the latest industry practices of electrical engineering, power engineering, and electrification.Preferred : Candidates with demonstrated skills in the following areas preferred : planning, designing, implementing, or managing electric power projects.1-2 years of experience in designing, implementing, and training professionals, along with demonstrated teaching experience, expertise in adult learning techniques, and a commitment to teaching adult learners preferred.Program directors must be self-disciplined, motivated, and able to work independently with limited oversight.Work Type : Part Time : 25% - 45%This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
