Job Purpose: Develop and implement marketing plans to help promote all 17 Men’s and Women’s Division 1 sports at the University of Wyoming. The successful candidate must be team-orientated, self-motivated, and have strong organizational skills. The primary responsibilities for this position are to oversee the marketing and game presentation of assigned sports, assist with the oversight of all student marketing, assist with the development of interns, and other duties. The Assistant Director of Marketing will be a 1-year contract position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and promotional plans for assigned sports •Create exciting gameday environments for sports through engaging game presentation efforts to create a home-team advantage (scripts, promotions, music, video, cheer/mascot, pep band, etc.). •Oversee all student marketing •Assist with development of interns •Collaborate with our media rights provider to develop in-game promotions that entertain fans and fulfill sponsorship agreements. •Oversee fan rewards program

An undergraduate intern program will support all efforts of this position. This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Branding.

Candidates should have willingness to work odd hours, weekends and holidays as is typical in collegiate athletics. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
  • 1 year experience in collegiate or professional sports marketing/game presentation
  • Demonstrated experience with leading game presentation for live sporting events
  • Experience planning, developing, and executing comprehensive marketing plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in collegiate or professional sports marketing/game presentation
  • Knowledge of the local and surrounding area markets
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to build working relationships among different departments on campus
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to create and maintain very specific timelines
