About the Opportunity
The University of Wyoming is seeking an expert in veterinary parasitology to join our team as an Assistant or Associate Professor and Veterinary Parasitologist.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of animal health in Wyoming and beyond. As a member of our faculty, you will have the chance to lead activities in a veterinary parasitology diagnostic lab, teach undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in research in a relevant area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead diagnostic activities in veterinary parasitology and promote the control of animal parasitic diseases.
- Supervise staff and students involved in diagnostic activities and contribute to ongoing improvements in diagnostic quality control and tests offered.
- Teach one 4-credit 4000/5000 level class in parasitology annually and contribute to other teaching activities in the College through guest lectures.
- Engage in parasitology research relevant to the region and support other activities within the WSVL as needed.
Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, staff, students, and clients.
- Expertise in an area of veterinary parasitology.
- Demonstrated capacity to engage in interdisciplinary research and diagnostic collaborations.
- Knowledge of biosafety protocols and regulatory standards relevant to veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
