JOB TITLE :
Assistant Program Coordinator, Senior
JOB PURPOSE :
Design, deliver, and evaluate the effectiveness of individual and group services to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented UW undergraduate participants. Services are designed to result in participants' academic success in college and subsequent enrollment in graduate school, with the ultimate objective of earning a Ph.D.
Assist with program planning, administrative operations, and compliance tasks, including recruitment of eligible and suitable participants; development and delivery of student workshops and participant services; advising participants to overcome barriers to academic and personal success; managing procurement card expenses, payroll, and participant travel; undertaking annual reporting tasks and internal audits; hiring and supervising graduate student mentors; and event planning and implementation including the eight-week summer research internship. In addition, this position is responsible for creating and maintaining PR and informational materials and / or overseeing hourly staff who do so, including the McNair website and social media accounts, quarterly newsletters, and event programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain current knowledge of federal legislation, regulations, and priorities of the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program ().
- Recruit eligible and suitable participants and provide individual and group advising.
- Assist with designing and implementing services and activities intended to result in participant success and attainment of annual and long-term grant objectives.
- Coordinate the hiring, training, and supervision of part-time staff for the eight-week summer research internship program. Assist with the management and coordination of summer activities, courses, requirements, and research internships for McNair participants.
- Undertake data management and annual reporting functions.
- Manage basic accounting tasks related to staff procurement card expenses, student travel, and participant and graduate student mentor payroll.
- Maintain knowledge of and strict compliance with federal legislation, federal regulations, and OMB directives, as well as UW and SEO policies and procedures.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and distributing PR and informational materials.
- Maintain a professional approach to problem-solving at all times and develop and maintain positive relationships with UW faculty and campus offices.

This position is eligible for remote work and / or a flexible work schedule after six months in the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Bachelor's degree
Experience : 3 years work-related experience
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements : Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
