UOA’s Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Excellence is searching for a Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant for our Avenel Rehab Center located at 1050 Rt. 1 North, Avenel, NJ.

Qualified Candidates:
- Graduate from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant curriculum
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
- Flexible schedule with required rotating evenings and alternating day scheduling
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively explain treatment plans to patients
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- The ability to pay close attention to the patient’s progress and be detail oriented
- Knowledge of EMR systems, a benefit, but not required
- Outpatient orthopaedic setting experience, a benefit, but not required
Key Responsibilities:
- Implements and executes on established Patient Education Sessions – learning the post-op recovery and protocol prior to total joint (knee and hip) replacement
- 30-minute follow-up with UOA patients
- Assists with treating patients for coverage purposes as needed
- Interpret the results of the Body Composition Testing for clients who have this service completed (same day read of results)
- Communicates with patient, families, referring physicians and other members of the team
- Provides timely written documentation per facility and department requirements
- Reports any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis
- Supports and participates in department operations and development
