University Orthopaedic Associates - a Division of OrthoNJ, is a leading orthopedic practice which provides a full spectrum of orthopaedic care. Our board certified surgeons, each subspecialty trained, offering the best care in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement, traumatology, hand and upper extremity surgery, foot and ankle surgery and surgery of the spine.
We have an exciting opportunity available for you to join our team as a Full-Time PT/ OT Patient Coordinator in our Somerset office. In this highly visible role, you will be interacting with patients, families and health care providers.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in a hospital or physician billing system (required)
- Knowledge of healthcare and medical practice protocols related to scheduling appointments and managed care referral/ pre-certification procedures
- Medical, physical and occupational therapy terminology is required (orthopaedic a plus)
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet use
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians/ clinicians about scheduling preferences
- Flexible schedule to potentially work all shifts (some evening hours required)
The successful candidate will be responsible to maintain records, physician orders, and obtain pertinent demographic information. The candidate will also be responsible for posting charges, close with reconciliation of the day, and scheduling appointments based on company policies and procedures.
Excellent communication skills, writing and interpersonal skills are required. Bilingual is a benefit.
